Our Junior Golf Program
Here at Shenvalee we have a proud history of supporting and developing junior golfers in the Shenandoah Valley. Our junior golf program is built on two principles:
  1. Children learn life lessons by learning golf
  2. Junior golf is the future of the game

What We Offer
Shenvalee offers many ways for young players to learn and enjoy the game of golf.

Junior Golfers 6-12 years old

For two weeks each Summer, we host golf camps for beginner and intermediate junior golfers, typically who are 6-12 years of age. These camps are always well attended and well received. Parents and children alike recognize the benefits of attending one of our camps. Each day the students learn new skills, rules, and golf etiquette, and their week culminates in an on-course experience that helps them practice what they have learned.

Junior Golfer 12-18 years old
Many of our "golf campers" go on to become life-long players. To help these young golfers to improve their abilities and to also enjoy healthy competition, Shenvalee recently teamed up with John Rogers, Direction of Instruction at Lakeview Golf Club in Harrisonburg, Virginia. John has, for the past nine years, developed a successful vehicle for developing skilled juniors, and you can read about the accomplishments of his students here: www.golfthingsconsidered.net.

Because of this new partnership, our junior golfers can now participate in the Tournament Players' Series (TPS) as well as the associated and expanding Lakeview Junior Golf Tour. These instruction clinics and tournaments are specially designed for the needs and abilities of junior golfers.

Benefits of participating in the TPS and the Tour include:
Ongoing professional instruction
Frequent competition
Opportunities to learn sportsmanship, honestly, and satisfaction in doing their best
Prizes and achievement recognition

We encourage all junior golfers to participate in these life- and game-changing opportunities.

High School Golf
Shenvalee is considered "home" to three local high school golf teams: Broadway High School, Central High School, and Stonewall Jackson High School. Throughout the Summer and into the Fall, we host numerous high school team matches. It is always exciting to watch the competitors give their best as they represent their respective school. We look forward to another enjoyable high school golf season in 2012!

Tuesday Evening Junior Golf
Every Tuesday evening after 5:30pm, families can come and play on the Olde Course free of charge! This offers parents an opportunity to play golf with their children in a relaxing and nurturing environment. So come out and one, two, or all nine holes.
We ask that you follow these rules for Tuesday Evening Family Golf:
1. All juniors must be 12 years old or younger as of January 1, 2013
2. All juniors must be on the course with a parent, grandparent, or adult guardian
3. This is a walking only golf experience; golf carts are not permitted
4. Please be courteous to other players
5. Please check in at the pro shop before you play
6. Enjoy yourself: Golf is game, so have some fun out there!
